For beach club Boelies in Hellevoetsluis, a beach race took place today under tough conditions. The temperature just above freezing and a beach where you had to constantly ‘push’ on the pedals were right up Bekkenk’s hand. In Mike Kes he found a brave fellow companion and together they rode away from the pack early. Bekkenk turned out to be the freshest at the finish and took his first victory of this beach season. Sebastiaan ten Zeldam completed the podium by finishing third.
