Ramses Bekkenk rode a strong Dutch Championship beach race in Scheveningen today. He was attentive from the start with the leading group and did not let it go. He could therefore prepare for the ultimate sprint for the red white blue jersey. He finished fifth behind winner Rick van Breda. Teammate Martin Schuttert came in 34th.
Rozanne Slik and Karen Brouwer finished seventh and eighth behind the unapproachable winner Nina Kessler in a heroic edition of the Dutch National Championships beach race. A South Westerly storm raged over the beach and in the final of the race a rain shower provided additional elements that had to be defied.
