With the Derp beachrace in Egmond the beachrace season has started yesterday. Ramses Bekkenk showed his good shape in his ‘homerace’ as his employer Beach Bastards Shop is located near the beach in Egmond. In the end of the race a leading trio with besides Bekkenk Ronan van Zandbeek and Richard Jansen battled for victory and van Zandbeek won.
‘I had some good races in the last weeks so I knew I was able to win today. The leading group deminished every lap and that’s good for me as in a sprint my chances to win are low. In the end the last podium spot was my share. Now an easy week as next weekend the Buff MTB beachrace from Hoek van Holland to Den Helder over 130 kilometers is to take place. It would be great to win that race once aging.’, stated the KMC rider.
