Seventh place for Gerben Mos in the Bart Brentjens Challenge, bad luck for Smeenge

For a long time it looked like Tim Smeenge was heading for a good result in the Bart Brentjens Challenge where he was part of a five men leading group. Unfortunately some arrows pointed in the wrong direction near Bemelen and the leading and chasing group with teammate Gerben Mos lost track and came together.

On top Smeenge had to deal with mechanical problems after the last feed zone. Close to the finish Mos lost contact with the leading group and finished seventh behind winner Bas Peters. ‘My start was not so smooth today but after one hour the feeling was much better. Due to the problems with the route we even managed to get back in front. In the end the race was just to long for me but good to see Tim is in shape again after his ilness. We will travel with confidence to South Africa for Cape Pioneer Trek.’, stated Mos. Teammate Bram Rood unfortunately flattened halfway the race.
