Bram Rood finishes third at Maronne beachcriterium in Hargen

Normally beachraces are ridden from oktober on but Saturday evening there was already the first battle for victory in Hargen. A challenging and distichous course was created for this ‘beachcriterium’ that led the riders around the Harger Laguna. Bram Rood was in the lead from the start together with later winner Robbert de Nijs and Dutch Champ Ronan van Zandbeek. Behind the leaders it were mostly solo riders who found their way on the tough course with loose sand, a hard climb and a loose descend. Rood’s KMC-Fruit to Go teammates Martin Schuttert and Stefan Vreugdenhil finished at eighth and tenth place.

On Sunday Rood attented a regional race in Haarlemmermeer which he managed to win. Teammate Bart Barkhuis succeeded in defending his leaders jersey in the mountainbike streetrace in Norg by finishing second behind winner Thom Bonder. Ramses Bekkenk rode a strong race in the German village Thalfang by finishing fourth behind winner Nissen in the Erbeskopf marathon.
