Bekkenk wins Dutch Cross Country over 475 kilometers

After his win in the first edition of the Dutch Cross Country Ramses Bekkenk also managed to win the second edition. This non stop mountainbike race from Pieterburen to Vaals over 475 kilometers has four obliged stops and started Saturday at twelve o’clock. In the first edition Bekkenk had company for the main part of the race but this year halfway in Apeldoorn he was already leading on his own.

‘This year it was really tough as I was riding alone for more than 250 kilometers. I had some difficult moments and quiting comes in your mind from time to time. At the feed zones I heard that my lead was increasing steadily and that gives ofcourse some mental support. Compliments to the organisation as everything was organised in a perfect way.’, stated Bekkenk. Adriaan Botma and Erik van Gelder finished second and third in Vaals.
